Books are a classic print product that has confidently weathered some fairly drastic changes, and which continues to present challenges through its great variety of styles. The solid reputation acquired by the APPL Group is substantially due to the colour book printing business that Appl has built up and maintained since the 1970s.

The piles of sheets leaving the pressroom en route to the bindery reveal the huge variety of titles that we produce in Wemding and Freising: the assortment ranges from the smaller runs of "Heimatbuch" town histories and upmarket art books right through to school books and medical textbooks and bulk runs of international, top-selling cookbooks. Though production figures of approx. 18 million books per year are undeniably impressive, we would never dismiss books as simply "bulk goods".
